Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Outsmart GPT, an independently run daily puzzle site. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, stop using the site. Questions go to hello@outsmartgpt.com.

Outsmart GPT publishes one set of four puzzle rounds each day at 2 AM Eastern. Each round is scored against a stored answer that a language model produced for the same prompt. That comparison is a game mechanic. It is not a benchmark, an evaluation, or a measurement of anyone's intelligence, and no result from this site should be presented as one.

You agree not to:

• Script, scrape, or otherwise automate play, including calling the daily content endpoints outside normal use of the site.
• Send volumes of traffic that degrade the service for other people, or probe the site for vulnerabilities without written permission.
• Use the free-text scoring endpoint for anything other than answering the round in front of you.
• Republish the daily puzzle content as your own, or resell access to it.

Access can be rate limited or blocked if the site is being abused. In practice this means an IP-level block, since there are no accounts to suspend.

Your record is stored in your browser and belongs to you. Clearing site data deletes it, and we cannot restore it, because we never had a copy. Share links carry only a date and a win or loss per round in the URL, which is all the score card image is drawn from.

The puzzle sets, the code, the score card artwork, and the name Outsmart GPT belong to the site operator. You may share a result, a screenshot, or a link to a set freely, including commercially, on social platforms. You may not copy the puzzle library wholesale or build a competing daily puzzle from it.

Puzzle prompts and model answers are generated with third party AI services. Occasional factual errors in generated content are expected. Reporting one to hello@outsmartgpt.com is welcome; correcting it is not guaranteed.

The site may display advertising through Google AdSense, subject to the consent flow described in the Privacy Policy. Advertisers and their content are not endorsed by us, and any dealing you have with them is between you and them. The site also depends on third party hosting and AI providers whose own outages we do not control.

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Puzzles may contain errors, scoring may be wrong, the site may be down, and a day's set may fail to publish. This is a free game with no uptime commitment.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including lost streaks, lost results, or lost time. Total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is zero. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

The rotating game library, the daily format, and these terms may change at any time, and the site may be discontinued without notice. Material changes to these terms move the date at the top of this page. The posted version is always the current one.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
